Micro-needling is used to rejuvenate the skin and improve the skin surface by reducing fine lines, expression lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, and acne scarring. The concept of Micro Needling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical injury such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. As the Micro-needling device moves across the skin, it makes pinpoint punctures to create very minor micro-“injuries.” In response to the perceived “injury,” a cascade of growth factors is released, which in turn triggers new collagen synthesis. This process has two major benefits - it effectively stimulates collagen formation and provides a clear channel for topical serums to be absorbed through the surface of the skin. Pre Treatment care: -Do not use Retinol or other photo-sensitizing topical or systemic medications for 3-5 days prior to your treatment. -Limit excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to your treatment, which also means do not come in with tanned (includes self-tanner) or sunburned skin. -If you want us to go over a part of your skin that grows hair, please shave the area prior to your appointment. Post Treatment Care: - Client WILL BE STIMULATED and may experience redness, inflammation, discomfort for approximately 24-48 hours. - Flaking and tightness may occur while the skin is healing - Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. After 24 hours, always use sunblock (30 SPF or higher) and wear a hat if you’re outside. - Use a painkiller, such as Tylenol, if you experience any soreness. - No hot tubs/hot showers/baths/exercising/saunas for 24-48 hours after service. - Client must not apply skin care products that night but can continue their regular skin care regime next morning. It is recommended to only use gentle products for the first few days after the service.
